What is Unai?

Unai is the VR headset for the Decentralized Metaverse. We are building the Hardware, Software, and Art of VR and the Metaverse together to create the best experience possible.

We believe that this integrated approach is how VR will reach its full potential. Furthermore, we believe that:

• The most important use case of VR will be the Decentralized Metaverse.
• The Metaverse won’t belong to a corporation; it will be Decentralized.
• Who controls the Hardware controls the Software. So Unai builds the Hardware of the Metaverse to embrace Decentralization while the others embrace ads and centralization.

What is the Unai company?

In December 2020, Unai Inc. was founded by Maxim Perumal and funded by world-class investors. Maxim previously created Relativty, the world’s most popular Open-Source VR headset (the story).

Unai is a team of experienced, rebellious engineers and creators from companies such as Apple, Intel, Nvidia, Microsoft,..., who lost faith in other companies to do the right thing for VR - and are passionate about making it right at Unai.

The Position, Computer Vision (ML/AI) Engineer

Description

Tracking the user’s body and face in 3D is the cornerstone of avatars that feel human. We use numerous cameras pointing at the body, Deep Learning, and Computer Vision models to achieve this. Join us to help build the Software and models that will enable avatars to express people’s emotions alongside a world-class team.

In this role, you will:

• Be part of creating new models, combining existing ones, and trying new research alongside other experienced engineers
• Be part of solving previously unsolved problems such as marker-less accurate 3D body tracking
• Work on models for both unlimited computing power and limited but dedicated Hardware
• See your work in Computer Vision constantly be implemented in the headset, used by the rest of the company, and make a difference.

Key Qualifications

• Experience with modern machine learning algorithms and image processing
• Excellent 2D and 3D computer vision and mathematics skills
• Experienced in C/C++ programming and Python
• Expertise in working with at least one deep learning framework, for example, PyTorch, TensorFlow

Experience

• 3+ Years of experience in CV/ML/AI/Deep Learning
• Experience optimizing models for performance
